This course introduces students to essential tooling used in modern software development. The foundations for using both desktop and cloud-based software development tools will be learned through practical labs and lectures. Students will learn how to use version control tools to collaborate in a team environment and track the history of documents. Guidance on the effective use of generative artificial intelligence tools and their application to the field of software development are explored including discussions on the limitations as well as ethical, and legal considerations such as copyright and licensing.
