Field Placement Field Placement provides a 200 hour, first opportunity of introduction to the field of settlement work and social service work working with immigrants and refugees. The student will gain exposure to the roles and domains of the settlement worker and social service worker and to the ways in which immigrant and refugee communities, agencies and different governmental regulatory bodies articulate with one another. The student will be challenged to examine their won personal and professional values, loyalties and obligations in conjunction with the values, legal and ethical guidelines and professional practices of the settlement and social service worker fields. Filed work takes place in designated settings that are suitable to the learning outcomes of a first year placement.
