Overview

This condensed microcredential focuses on equipping learners with the essentials of AI tools, ethical usage, problem-solving, and communication. The program includes engaging tasks, scenario-based learning, and a final performance-based task. The curriculum emphasizes a shift towards a 'possibilities' mindset regarding AI, encouraging exploration of its potential while maintaining human oversight and ethical considerations. A 'menu' approach to AI tool usage in tasks will be encouraged, offering flexibility in how learners integrate AI to enhance their learning and work.

Skills and Competencies

  • Apply foundational skills in using AI tools: Utilize essential generative AI technologies and explore task automation through practical exercises such as drafting professional communications and creating basic visuals.
  • Employ AI as a problem-solving partner: Identify workplace challenges and leverage AI tools to generate solutions through scenario-based assignments, while critically evaluating AI outputs and presenting well-reasoned, AI-informed proposals.
  • Practice ethical and responsible AI implementation: Understand fundamental ethical considerations, including data privacy, bias, and responsible implementation of AI tools, by analyzing AI outputs for potential biases and participating in case studies that explore the ethical dilemmas of AI use in the workplace.
  • Cultivate adaptability to AI advancements: Build confidence in continuously learning and applying new AI technologies by exploring emerging tools and developing strategies for integrating them into evolving workplace scenarios, recognizing the dynamic nature of AI.
  • Improve workplace communication through and with AI: Enhance communication, content creation, and collaboration by drafting clear messages, summarizing information, and generating reports for peer review using AI tools, while also developing effective prompting techniques to guide AI outputs.
