Upon completion of the program, the student will be able to:

• Solve practical planning problems by interpreting data and generating recommendations and design strategies.
• Apply working knowledge of sustainable planning approaches in addressing environmental, economic, and social issues.
• Synthesize supporting data and information of an analysis of infrastructure investments for economics, sustainability, and mobility.
• Evaluate environmental regulation, health, and the needs of unique and diverse populations in the analysis of urban growth and transportation needs.
• Analyze transportation problems and propose solutions, including demand analysis framework, data collection procedures, travel demand modeling and forecasting, and cost-effectiveness evaluations for new initiatives.
• Solve situational problems/simulations using forecasting, valuation, and demand analysis.
• Evaluate and analyze the role of public consultation professionals and process stewards.
• Apply principles and strategies to design, facilitate, and document credible engagement processes.
• Support the public engagement process by employing key facilitative tools.
• Evaluate the relationship between planning and economic development.
• Solve situational problems using issues identification, visioning, option prioritization, and action planning.
