A gift of securities is a great way for you to support ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø and its students while offering you additional tax savings.
When you sell publicly listed securities such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds that have grown in value, you are required to pay capital gain tax. However, if you donate these securities directly to ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø, you are exempt from the capital gain tax. In addition, you will receive a charitable donation receipt for the full value of the securities which is determined by its market closing price on the day the shares are received in the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø’s account.
