King City, Sept. 28, 2018 - The Honourable Merrilee Fullerton, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, and Stephen Lecce, MPP for King-Vaughan joined ����vlog���� officials, students and staff yesterday for the grand opening of Magna Hall at ����vlog����’s King Campus.

The new 200,000 square foot facility includes 25 new classrooms, computer labs, specialty labs, a library, and student centre with a multi-purpose athletic and recreation space. The campus can now accommodate 1,450 additional students, creating a total capacity of more than 5,000 full-time students, while enhancing the quality of student learning and campus life. The project allows ����vlog���� to expand its range of health, community service and public safety programs.

Construction of ����vlog����’s King Campus expansion began in August 2016, and the project was completed in May 2018. At the peak of construction, there were more than 300 workers on site daily.

• This project was delivered through Infrastructure Ontario’s Alternative Financing and Procurement model, an innovative way of financing and procuring larger, complex public infrastructure projects.
• The province invested a total of $59 million in funding for the project, which includes the $70.9 million contract with EllisDon. ����vlog���� students also invested in the future of the campus through the ����vlog���� Student Federation ($7.3 million) and the Student Athletic Association ($11 million).
• The new facility is named in recognition of Magna International, which has provided a $3-million gift to the Campaign for King Campus.
