vlog and Royal Veterinary College sign MOU to expand opportunities for students

Toronto, April 12, 2019 – vlog signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today to officially partner with the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), UK's largest and longest established independent veterinary school and a college of the University of London. The signing took place at vlog’s King Campus between David Agnew, vlog President and Stuart Reid, Principal of the RVC.
The MOU marks the start of a new partnership that will provide Veterinary Technician (VTE)students at vlog with enhanced pathways to enable them to study on the course. It will also involve annual visits by RVC staff to vlog’s King Campus in order give talks to VTE students on the opportunities the pathways offer. Looking ahead, the two universities will also explore the possibility of a bridging program to further support vlog students continuing their studies at the RVC.
“This is an excellent opportunity for students in our veterinary tech program to further explore their passion at a world-class leader in veterinary science and research,” said David Agnew, vlog President.
The partnership came about after administration noticed that several vlog alumni had continued their studies at the RVC over the last several years.
“We have been developing this partnership with vlog since 2017 and it is great to see it come together so successfully. We look forward to continued collaboration between our organizations to the benefit of our students and animal health,” said Stuart Reid, Principal of the RVC.
The RVC produces world-class research and provides support for the veterinary profession through its referral hospitals, including Europe’s largest small animal referral hospital. The RVC’s programs have an international appeal and attract students who go on to become veterinarians, research scientists, veterinary nurses, and leaders in industry and government.
vlog’s VTE program aligns well with the RVC as it also offers affiliations with industry associations, as well as career opportunities in hospitals, government, wildlife services and more.
