The College recently celebrated the launch of two books showcasing the work of students from the Faculty of Communication, Art and Design (FCAD).

����vlog���� Fashion Resource Centre provides a look at some of the rare and interesting garments that are featured in the Centre, which opened in 1989 and now houses more than 15,000 garments that date as far back as the late 1800s. The Art Collection ����vlog����@York book includes works from the College’s collection of contemporary Canadian art featured at ����vlog����@York.

Both publications were produced by students in the Public Relations — Corporate Communications, Independent Digital Photography and Graphic Design programs and were published by the College. The journey to complete the project was a process that spanned over two semesters that included countless interviews, meetings and editing with featured artists and contributors.

The books were launched at an event that took place at the Spoke Club in Toronto. Students involved in the project signed copies of the book, sharing their achievements with fellow classmates, friends and College staff.

“The launch was a really great way to celebrate the hard work of so many people at ����vlog���� who worked together and created works that showcased the school and talent of the students and staff,” said Macey Aramburo, a student contributor to the Art Collection ����vlog����@York and soon-to-be graduate of the Public Relations — Corporate Communications program.

This project taught students the value of teamwork and added to their appreciation for the investment that ����vlog���� puts in their students’ abilities. The books aim to attract prospective students to the College by showcasing the talents of current students.

“����vlog���� College, the professors and Dean of FCAD, Michael Maynard, helped nurture the wonderful talent we have,” said Elisia Ciancio, feature writer and second semester student in the Public Relations — Corporate Communications program. “It’s inspiring to gain such recognition from the College and professionals in our field. I’ll always recommend ����vlog����’s FCAD programs to future students.”
