Program Learning Outcomes

As a graduate, you will be prepared to reliably demonstrate the ability to:

  • Conduct holistic client assessments to plan and provide individualized, trauma informed, culturally appropriate nursing care.
  • Use critical inquiry and clinical reasoning skills to inform nursing practice and plan of care decision-making within the Canadian health care system context.
  • Comply with Canadian nursing regulatory standards, practices, and legislation by conducting oneself in a professional, responsible, accountable and self-regulated manner.
  • Facilitate professional and therapeutic communication with individuals, families, diverse populations, and health-care team members to form partnerships and improve health outcomes.
  • Plan and clinically assess nursing care for adult populations to improve patient outcomes.
  • Develop and apply strategies for professional development to maintain currency within the health care sector.
  • Demonstrate skills in intercultural competency, conflict resolution, human rights, and anti-racism interventions to provide culturally safe care.
