Sabine Weber

Sabine Weber has been a professor at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Polytechnic since 2017, teaching courses on fashion business, sustainability and product development. Her research focuses on textile waste, recycling, greenwashing and sustainable consumption. Ms. Weber has received multiple grants and published in journals such as Resources, Conservation and Recycling. Additionally, she has curated exhibitions at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Polytechnic, such as "Dumpster Dive" and "Sustainable Fashion," showcasing innovative approaches to sustainability in fashion.

She co-founded the Ontario Textile Diversion Collaborative, now known as the Canadian Circular Textiles Consortium, and she continues to play a leading role in the organization. In recognition of her contributions, Ms. Weber was honoured with the Women of Inspirationâ„¢ Award in 2020 and the Alumni Inspiration Award from the University of Waterloo in 2024. Ms. Weber completed her PhD at the University of Waterloo in 2021, focusing on social innovation and transitioning fashion toward sustainability.Ìý

Before moving to Canada, Ms. Weber had nearly two decades of experience in Europe's fashion industry as a product manager, head of design and international buyer.
