Arts and Science – University Transfer
(Faculty of Arts)
Elena Berman came to Canada from Russia at the age of 18 and enrolled in ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù꿉۪s Arts and Science – University Transfer program. At ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø, she maintained strong relationships with peers and faculty, consistently demonstrating leadership, empathy and professionalism. She discovered her passion for health and wellness while at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø, becoming a certified personal trainer, completing phlebotomy training and competing in bodybuilding. Elena also gave back to her community, serving as a volunteer church organist and music director. Elena is now continuing her academic journey at the University of Toronto in the Human Biology and Physiology program with the goal of building a career that improves health and well-being in Canadian society.

Dayson Dong’s time at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø was defined by academic excellence, leadership and community impact. Known as an experienced student servant leader with a unique ability to inspire others, Dayson transformed from a quiet student into a confident leader, often approached to support fellow students in their academic pursuits. His achievements extended well beyond the classroom. As the co-founder and president of the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Engineering Students’ Society, Dayson helped grow the group to more than 300 members. He also co-chaired ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù꿉۪s first Engineering Competition (SEC), which gave students the opportunity to advance to the provincial and national levels. In recognition, his leadership earned him the 2023–2024 Student Leadership Award. Today, Dayson is working on a pair of business start-up projects and looks forward to working with ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø students as he brings his ideas to market.
Business – International Business
(ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Business)
Known for her leadership, community involvement and academic excellence, Caryl Joyce Letrago made a lasting impact during her time at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø. As a three-time President’s Honour List recipient and Peer Mentor, she consistently supported fellow students while maintaining high academic standards. Caryl’s commitment to empowering international and Filipino students began early, as she worked with ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø International as a student ambassador and led the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Polytechnic Filipino Community as secretary and later, as president. Her work on the Community’s website and social media platforms showcased the vibrant opportunities at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø and helped to strengthen campus culture and spirit. Caryl is now working in admissions for a traditional Chinese medical college in midtown Toronto, building on the skills and training she earned at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø.
Law Clerk

Aruthi Paramasamy’s experience at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø reflects her consistent pursuit of excellence. She completed her undergraduate studies at Wilfrid Laurier University but a growing interest in the legal field led her to ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø and its Law Clerk program. This offered her the opportunity to become a member of the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO) after graduation. Aruthi’s experience at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø was enriched by the creativity and support of her Continuing Education instructors, who provided engaging, real-world learning opportunities that brought classroom theory to life. She also gave back to her community through mentorship and volunteer work, embodying ÌÇÐÄvlog¹Ù꿉۪s values of respect, collaboration and always looking for ways to improve and innovate. Aruthi is currently working as a law clerk in downtown Toronto and may explore future opportunities, including applying to law school to become a lawyer.Ìý
Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing
(ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Nanji Foundation School of Nursing)
Driven, accomplished, and community-minded, Baldeep Singh exemplifies what it means to be a standout ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø graduate. As a Student Laboratory Assistant, Baldeep supported peers in clinical labs with professionalism and care. He consistently fostered a collaborative and confident learning environment with classmates and faculty alike. His efforts earned Baldeep a place on the President’s Honour List and recognition as Student of the Year for 2025. His leadership extended beyond campus when he represented Ontario nursing students in a clinical skills demonstration, engaging with national leaders including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Baldeep was hired by a leading Greater Toronto Area hospital after completing a successful placement with the institution. He is currently working within the hospital’s stroke unit as he works towards his Registered Nurse designation.Ìý
Public Relations – Corporate Communications

Bologi Stephen made her mark at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø through a vibrant mix of passion, initiative and a steadfast dedication to both personal and academic excellence. A trained lawyer in Nigeria prior to her arrival at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø, she embraced new learning formats with enthusiasm and confidence. Her thoughtful contributions, support for peers and active participation enriched the classroom experience for everyone. She also demonstrated strong collaboration skills, consistently leading with empathy and integrity. Bologi graduates as a proud ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø ambassador, carrying forward the values of engaged learning, community building and leadership rooted in connection. ÌýShe is now pursuing her new career in the non-profit sector with additional interest in the education, finance and legal fields.
Opticianry
(Faculty of Community & Health)
From the moment she entered the Opticianry program, Ester Tsutsumida demonstrated a strong commitment to mastering both theory and practical hands-on skills. Ester excelled in advanced contact lens courses, consistently showing precision, empathy and outstanding communication skills in both classroom and lab settings. Her professionalism and compassion were recognized by instructors and peers alike, especially during patient interactions. As somebody who has lived in Brazil and multiple other countries and speaks four languages, Ester has a unique ability to build strong relationships and lead with confidence, all of which contributed positively to the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø community. She is currently working at one of the leading eye care clinics in Toronto and looks forward to continuing to hone her craft.
Anna Melissa (Eli) Agay was born in the Philippines and worked in her home country and for the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco before moving to Canada. She applied to ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Polytechnic’s Social Service Worker (SSW) diploma program because its graduates are eligible for registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Eli served as a peer mentor, student ambassador and president of the SSW Club, through which she led important initiatives on sexual violence prevention education, crisis de-escalation and suicide alertness. Now a Registered Social Services Worker, Eli is driven to make a difference in the local Filipino community, where she volunteers with Adhika Development to raise awareness on prevention of gender-based and sexual violence. Eli is the 2025 recipient of the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Cup, which acknowledges academic proficiency and contributions made toward improving the quality of student life.
Paul Krahn is a graduate of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Polytechnic’s Honours Bachelor of Aviation Technology degree program, which he completed through a Canadian Armed Forces initiative that allows students to train as military pilots while simultaneously earning their degree. His passion for aviation took flight early—he earned his private pilot licence at just 17. At ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø, Paul excelled in the classroom, achieving the highest grade-point average among all degree program students. Paul credits his professors for creating a supportive learning environment that helped him grow and succeed. He is now completing the final phase of his military training in Manitoba.
Roberto Horatio Aramburu is a graduate of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Polytechnic’s Business diploma program. More than just an outstanding student, he was widely recognized as a team leader and an active participant in campus life. Roberto values the hands-on learning he received at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø and the real-world connections between his assignments and business challenges. An innovative entrepreneur, he has successfully founded businesses in Argentina and the United States and is now ready to launch his next venture in Canada.
Karen Kei Barra is a graduate of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Polytechnic’s Flight Services – Operations & Cabin Management diploma program. She arrived at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø with a wealth of experience in the aviation industry and a desire to upskill so that she could pursue a career in flight operations. She was a regular volunteer at campus events, served as a peer mentor and cites building meaningful relationships with peers and mentors as the highlight of her time at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø. Karen now plans to continue advancing her career in the Canadian aviation sector.
Rosemary Vergara is a graduate of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Polytechnic’s Child & Youth Care diploma program. She pursued her studies at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø to develop the skills needed to build authentic, trusting relationships with children and advocate for their well-being. She especially values the work placements included in her program, which reaffirmed her decision to shift careers. Today, Rosemary is applying her ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø education as a Special Educational Assistant with the York Region District School Board.
