About the Program

There are three streams of ³§±ð²Ô±ð³¦²¹â€™s Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing degree:

  • Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing (Fast track) (BSNF) – Designed for those who wish to complete the full program in three years (eight consecutive semesters).

  • Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BSN) – Designed for those who wish to complete the full program in four years (eight semesters). If you start in September, there are summer breaks. If you start in January, there are summer breaks after the first year.

  • Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing (Bridge) (BSNB) – Designed for current practicing RPNs who wish to complete the degree via a bridging pathway.

In the BSNF fast-track degree program, you will earn a BScN credential by completing the program in eight consecutive semesters (three years) with no summer breaks, allowing you to get a head start on your career.

Prepare to be a healthcare leader by following a curriculum that provides a diverse and global perspective alongside opportunities to provide nursing care within various clinical settings. Clinical education is enhanced with focused simulation in state-of-the-art labs, allowing you to practice and refine your clinical reasoning skills.

The curriculum is designed to meet the entry to practice competencies defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and provides a solid base for further study at the graduate level.

All three streams of ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø's Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing program have received preliminary approval from theÌý. Graduates from these programs are eligible to apply for registration as a Registered Nurse in Ontario. Programs with preliminary approval status will be considered for full approval status after completing a comprehensive review in the academic year following the first class of graduates.

This program meets Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) eligibility requirements.

Program and Course Delivery

This program is offered in ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø's hybrid delivery format with some courses available in ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø's flexible delivery format. Some coursework is online and some must be completed in person. Students will need to come on campus to complete in-person learning requirements. In courses delivered in the flexible format, using interactive learning spaces, professors teach in person to students in a physical classroom or lab and stream to students online at the same time. Students have a choice of coming to campus for an in-person experience or learning online.

Professional Practice Upon Graduation

After successful completion of the program, graduatesÌýwillÌýearn a BScN credential andÌýare required to meet the Entry to Practice Competencies for nursing practice in Ontario. For a student to obtain these competencies during their educational program, certain skills and abilities are required. It is important that you are aware of these prior to applying for admission to the nursing program. Review these requirements:Ìý.

Upon graduation, students wishing to engage in the professional practice of nursing and use the title Registered Nurse are subject to qualifying examinations (NCLEX) and other requirements by the regulatory body, the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
