Canada Summer Jobs is a program under the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy. The program aims to provide flexible and holistic services to help all young Canadians develop their skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market.
The program providesÌýwage subsidies to employersÌýfromÌýnot-for-profit organizations,Ìýthe public sector andÌýprivate sector organizations with 50 or fewer full-time employees to create quality summer work experiences forÌýyoung people aged 15 to 30 years.
- Non-profit employersÌýmay be able to receive funding for up to 100 per cent of the provincial or territorial adult minimum hourly wage and all associated Mandatory Employment Related Costs (MERCs)
- Public and private sector employers may be eligible to receive funding for up to 50 per cent of the provincial or territorial minimum hourly wage. Public or private sector employers are not eligible to receive reimbursement for MERCs
